San Terri Cottage - tea time

San Terri cottage has been around and has a few branches around the Klang Valley. I stopped by here to wait for our tenant to handover our keys to our apartment in Plaza Damas. I like the multiple colored deco and wallpaper motifs used extensively for the interiors and myriad colors of furniture. A good place to have a break and a cup of cappuccino suits me just fine here. Their deserts are well reputed as well.

Sri Hartamas - Our hood...

July 2011- It's nice going back and see some of the places we like and how it has developed along the years. Plaza Hartamas and Mont Kiara has certainly increased in population and traffic count, but the charm is still there. Here are some pics of our day around the area.

Typical Streetscape environment

View from our apartment towards the streetscape and commercial lots above plaza hartamas. These strata commercial lots 'gives back' the street level and pedestrain realm of a traditional shophouse environment to the site. Below is a shopping mall, MSCP and M&E services. Though within itself, the public realm seems to be well connected but with the rest of the context is somewhat disconnected. However, there is an attempt here to link to the opposite development via a pedestrian bridge.

Another neighbourhood nearby.

in between blocks, tenants take advantage to capitalize on the potential of the public realm

double height 5 ft walkway creates better volume and brighter interiors.

A scale model of the development across the street in the sales office nearby. The owners shall be getting their keys soon and we'll see it being populated very fast.

Level 3 entrance to the hartamas shopping centre from the 'roof' streetscape.

Pedestrian bridge which connects the 2 development

Food, glorious food!

Well today I want to talk about sustenance at its greatest. Just some of my personal favourite!

Japanese eel, I had this at Starhill gallery....

My favourite laksa, in Chawan, Bangsar...

Favourite breakfast/tea at Kopitiam Station, in Plaza Hartamas,

Char Kwea Tiau, can't remember where exactly...

All time favourite Nasi Lemak at Spicy Kitchen, Sri Hartamas

Duck noodle at The Gardens...

... and in the same place, wanton soup

hey another picture of nasi lemak, heheh

also keropok at Chawan again.

Growing up in Malaysia we are fortunate to have a great variety of food at a cheap price. Ingredients are relatively cheap here and most of the street food are the best thing around.

We even made it recently in the CNN top 50 most delicious food with our famous Penang Assam Laksa! http://www.cnngo.com/explorations/eat/worlds-50-most-delicious-foods-067535
